Look closely and you’ll see your hidden home away from home. The Mirrorcube is a nearly-invisible treehouse that truly blends in with nature. Built with exterior walls made from reflective “spyglass,” the pre-fab structure reflects its surroundings to become almost undetectable. (An infrared film, invisible to humans but visible to birds is placed within the glass to stop kamikazes.) Designed by Scandinavian architects Bolle Tham & Martin Videgård, it’s got a wood and aluminum body, and comes complete with restroom, queen-size bed, and Goonies-esque rope bridge.

In no particular order…
1. Love Actually - I get warm fuzzy feelings watching this movie.
2. Home Alone - Not 2 or 3. Just the good one. I still laugh watching this. And it makes me feel like a kid.
3. Miracle on 34th Street - The 1947 original. I don’t believe in Santa and I don’t even celebrate Christmas but wow, this movie gives me chills.
4. A Christmas Carol - starring Patrick Stewart. C’mon, it’s Patrick freakin’ Stewart.
5. The Family Stone - love, love, love this movie. Doesn’t hurt that Claire Danes is in it. I think this is how a true dysfunctional family behaves during the holidays.
6. The Santa Clause - I still think this movie is cute.
7. Just Friends - takes place during Christmas and stars yummy Ryan Reynolds. Win.
8. Joyeux Noel - Beautiful film. Here’s the IMDB description: In 1914, World War I, the bloodiest war ever at that time in human history, was well under way. However on Christmas Eve, numerous sections of the Western Front called an informal, and unauthorized, truce where the various front-line soldiers of the conflict peacefully met each other in No Man’s Land to share a precious pause in the carnage with a fleeting brotherhood. This film dramatizes one such section as the French, Scottish and German sides partake in the unique event, even though they are aware that their superiors will not tolerate its occurrence.
9. The Polar Express - one of my favorite picture books ever. It’s so artistic and they brought it to the screen perfectly.
10. Scrooged - Just plain funny
